Artist Statement
For both sculptures the focus was balance. Each achieved the design principle differently. For my Balsa Wood Sculpture, the bottom half is negative space while the top is filled with chaos. Combining the top and the bottom creates balance. For my Paper Sculpture, I had the main structure balanced on three skewers as wells as the textures on the main structure were evenly distributed.
